Roxanne Nanninga
Founder & Principal
Roxanne has dedicated her career to building programs and strategy that address the challenges facing our oceans and global food systems. She has led wide-reaching initiatives to tackle climate change, better fishing and farming practices, traceability, and human rights in multiple sectors, including seafood corporations, technology startups, and environmental non-profits. As founder of Blue Biome Advising, she supports clients in ESG strategy, sustainable finance, program management, and more.
Roxanne holds a Master of Environmental Management degree from Duke University in Environmental Management and International Development.
Kent Strauss
Principal & Lead Economist
Kent is a natural resource economist dedicated to providing actionable insights that inform policy design and organizational strategy. He collaborates with environmental non-profits, consulting firms, and intergovernmental organizations on issues ranging from sustainable fishing to renewable energy. As a Principal and Economist at Blue Biome Advising, Kent offers economic advisory services related to natural resource policy and research scoping and execution.
He holds an M.A. in Economics from UC Santa Barbara and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Oregon.
Ydun Donahoe
Senior Advisor & Systems Expert
Ydun provides strategic advisory, analytical, and facilitation
services to organizations looking to boost sustainability and
resilience within food systems. With a proven track record in
analyzing complex systems and data, Ydun is an asset to clients
seeking thoughtful solutions to a wide range of challenges facing the
food system, with links to policy, energy, finance, and climate. Ydun
has led conservation and climate-focused initiatives in 20 countries
that have decarbonized supply chains and built local capacity and
governance systems to better serve nature and people. Ydun holds a
M.Sc. in Agricultural Economics from the University of Copenhagen and a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles.
